Buckingham University News

After last years successful Buckingham University Symposium on ‘The Strength of the UK’, we were extremely delighted to have an opportunity to discuss the possibility of building a ‘Centre for UK Studies’ MA degree course at Buckingham with the support of the Vice Chancellor, Mr James Tooley.

Thanks to the tireless work of TUKF Advisory Board Member Mark Seddon, we are delighted to be in a position to propose the model for a 1 year online MA course in UK Studies. (2 year part-time course available)

The focus of the MA degree would be on “The changing constitutional structure of the UK, its political culture, and its place in the world.”

The model is still being finalised but I am in a position to pass on that the course will include:

  • An Education Programme
  • A Visiting Speakers Programme
  • A Research Programme
  • Field Trips
  • An Annual Symposium in conjunction with the Together UK Foundation.

Each Quarter Term will focus respectively:

  • Term 1 Northern Ireland
  • Term 2 Scotland
  • Term 3 Wales
  • Term 4 England.

This wonderful opportunity would be the first course of its kind in the UK. More news as and when!
